“Gifts of the Spirit” vs. “Manifestations”
“Gifts of the Spirit” or “Manifestations”… What’s the difference and why is it important?
If you get this wrong, then you have NO POWER! So we reveal and solve this huge stumbling block for Christians.
Many passages in the bible plainly state that when a person is born again they receive “power from on high” that is the Gift of Holy Spirit. And then that person can then manifest all of the powers found within that one gift.
But the Bible says “Gifts”
But in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 some of the text seems to read that there are many different “gifts”. And it seems that some people get some gifts while other people get other gifts. And then some people don’t get any gifts at all.
Ever wonder why God plays favorites? He gives some gifts to some people and leaves others high and dry. At least that’s what well meaning individuals taught us. What if they are wrong? Then a whole new world unfolds before you.
For example, notice how often the word “gift,” “gifts,” or “gifted” appears in most translations of 1 Corinthians 12-14. Yet oddly not one of these uses of “gift” is in the Greek text.
1 Corinthians 12:1a: Now concerning spiritual “gifts”, brethren…”
1 Corinthians 13:2a: If I have “the gift of” prophecy….”
1 Corinthians 14:1: Follow after charity and desire spiritual “gifts”…
1 Corinthians 14:12: …forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual “gifts”…
It is easy to see why the average Christian thinks of prophecy and the other manifestations as “spiritual gifts.” It is difficult to read the Bible and come away with an accurate understanding of it when the translators have allowed their theology to distort the clear reading of the text.
In the audio sermon Pastor Sweets explains in detail all the Greek to English words. So that you can enjoy a deeper understanding of all that God wants you to have.
Which is the truth… are these individual gifts or different manifestations of one single gift?
Knowing there are no contradictions in the bible, then any apparent contradictions are because of errors in translation. Or sometimes they stem from our own lack of understanding.
On this bible study Audio Sermon, Pastor Daniel Sweet uses the Greek text to accurately translate and explain these seemingly difficult verses.
This issue has been a major stumbling block for way too many Christians. Let’s research the scriptures and find out together!
